Louis’ Models is built for collectors who care about accuracy, craftsmanship, and long-term value. This process is ideal for those who:

  • Want a specific ship built to a high standard

  • Appreciate detail and screen accuracy

  • Are comfortable with a structured, collaborative process

  • Understand that museum-quality work takes time

If you are looking for something off the shelf or a quick turnaround, this may not be the right fit. If you want something built properly, with care and intention, you are in the right place!

Every Build Begins With a Conversation

A commission is not a product pulled from inventory. It is a custom project built around your specific vision. We begin with a detailed discussion about:

  • The ship you want built

  • Preferred scale and display considerations

  • Lighting and special features

  • Estimated timeline

  • Estimated cost range

Before any work begins, you will understand what is possible and what to expect. Clarity comes first.

A Structured Process from Start to Finish

Every commissioned build follows a clear and intentional process. From early research to final inspection, each stage is handled with care and transparency so you always know what is happening and what comes next.

Planning & Research

Once the direction is confirmed, detailed research begins. Original references are reviewed. Materials are selected. Kits are inspected and modified as needed, or custom components are fabricated when required. Accuracy is established before assembly begins.

Build & Collaboration

As the model takes shape, progress updates are shared regularly. Lighting is tested. Surfaces are refined. Details are applied with precision. At key stages, your input is welcome to ensure the final result reflects your expectations. Seeing the build unfold builds confidence.

Inspection & Delivery

Before delivery, the completed model is carefully inspected and tested. Every system is checked. Every surface is reviewed. The model is prepared for safe transport and long-term display. What arrives is a finished centerpiece built to enjoy for years to come.

Transparency at Every Stage

For many collectors, the greatest uncertainty happens before the first conversation. That is understandable. Throughout the build process, you receive consistent updates to see real progress. Questions are welcome. Adjustments are discussed openly when needed. Trust is not assumed. It is built through proof.

Louis’ Models built an extremely high quality Enterprise model which is now the centrepiece of my collection. Connor exceeded my expectations with a build that was screen accurate, extremely detailed and of very high quality workmanship. The process went smoothly and included frequent regular updates (and videos!) 11 out of 10!

Quality Takes Time

Most commissions are completed within 1 to 2 months, depending on scale, complexity, and feature requirements. Smaller projects may move more quickly. Larger builds involving custom fabrication or extensive lighting may require additional time.

Before any work begins, you will receive a clear timeline for your specific project, ensuring expectations are aligned from the start. The goal is not speed for its own sake. The goal is precision, without unnecessary delays.

Understanding the Investment

Commissioned builds are custom, museum-quality pieces created with significant time and craftsmanship. Most small projects fall within the range of $500 to $1000 CAD, With large builds ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. These prices are reflective of scale, materials, lighting, overall complexity, and more.

Final pricing is discussed during consultation once your specific vision is outlined. A deposit secures your place in the build schedule. The remaining balance is due upon completion before delivery.

Because each build receives focused attention, commission availability is limited throughout the year.

If you are unsure whether your project fits within this range, the best next step is simply to begin the conversation.
